Watch Disney+ together, after GroupWatch
Disney+ had a group-watch feature called GroupWatch and removed it in September 2023, which left a lot of people without a way to watch together. FlickTandem replaces it — and adds the video chat GroupWatch never had, since that only ever supported emoji reactions.

What to expect
Ad breaks on Disney+
Disney+ now has an ad-supported tier. On ad-free plans sync holds for the whole film; on the ad tier you may need one nudge after a break.
- GroupWatch capped a session at seven people and had no chat — FlickTandem has text chat and webcam video for everyone in the room.
- Works from any Disney+ title page once playback starts.
How Disney+ behaves under sync
Disney+ serves playback from /video/ in most regions and /play/ in others. FlickTandem recognises both, so a party started in one region still works for someone whose Disney+ uses the other form.
How it works
Three steps, about thirty seconds

- 3
Approve your friends
Each guest waits until you let them in — or set a room password and skip the approving.

What happened to Disney+ GroupWatch?
Disney removed it in September 2023. It supported up to seven people who each needed their own subscription, and offered emoji reactions rather than chat or video. There is no built-in replacement, which is why an extension is the practical option now.
